For a long time I have wanted to make a cover of this popular Hindi song from the 90’s (not shot on a beach). Because in my head I saw it differently. I saw beautiful brown skin, a curvy body, lot more sensuality and a little twinkle in the eye of the female protagonist whenever I closed my eyes and heard that particular song.
The actress in the song is beautiful of course, but I thought for a country like India - there have to be many different narratives for beauty, not just the slim fair kind! Tall, dark, short, thin, plump, fat and all those in - between too. Anybody who is comfortable in their skin is beautiful!
Though I couldn’t shoot a video like I wanted to all these years, I decided to edit some recent photos together for the same song.
No hair and make-up artists, no crew, no lighting, no special outfits, no styling- so yeah, not perfect and certainly not the way I envisioned it. But I just decided to stop waiting for cash, crew and commitment to coincide! 😜
So it’s just me on the beach on a gorgeous day. Have used photos from a spontaneous photo shoot by my very talented hubby and as an editor I enjoyed creating this. Will be sharing it as a gift to myself on Valentine’s Day! ❤️ Do watch! Will share just one para of the song coz I have only a handful of photos!

I am a 52 year old guy in Portland. It's been a dream of mine to learn Bharatanatyan...literally. I started taking private lessons a month ago. I love it! It is the best. Not easy at all...but boy it fills me with joy. I have age related physical limitations but my teacher helps modify some of the more difficult steps. So YES! YOU CAN!
